In real time strategy games, the player must develop strategy “on the fly” as the game progresses, whereas turn-based allows time for the player to analyze the situation, work out a strategy and evaluate possible outcomes prior to exercising their turn. All RTS require computer or internet based platforms. TBS games have more possibilities. With real time strategy video games, players are reacting to a constantly changing environment, developing solutions to obstacles to achieve the best possible outcomes. It has been theorized that RTS games encourage thinking and problem solving skills.
